Summary: Coffee, mornings, and importance of the former during the latter. For
ff_threesomes.
Coffee was an important and rather delicate subject in the Almasy-Leonhart-Heartilly abode. All three of them relied on it, after all, to help them pry their eyes open on a morning, if only because Squall would insist at getting up at some ungodly hour, and the way he had to wriggle to get out from between them on a morning work them all up at least partially.
And, predictably, each of them thought the other's ideas of coffee were completely unrealistic and possibly scary.
And often enough there would only be enough for two cups of coffee. One of them was, of course, given unquestioningly to Squall, because everyone admitted that he needed it most. The other would have to be fought over. And Rinoa and Seifer fought a lot over coffee, probably because they were surprisingly of one mind about most other things and needed something to disagree over.
Squall would have his with absolutely nothing diluting it. He'd stand there, back against the counter, sipping it like it was a torture he had to face every morning, looking increasingly less grumpy and sour with every sip.
Rinoa, however, was at the other extreme. She had her coffee with so much milk and sugar she might as well have candy instead, or so Seifer said.
And Seifer, in coffee, if not in anything else, was a happy medium.
And all were equally sure that their way was best, and equally happy to leave the others to their strange ways.
It worked. Mostly.
