Summary: Fujin was there when they did it. For [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100. Other bits of this 'verse here.

"Seifer!" she'd cried. But she hadn't done anything. She hadn't been able to, and yet she still felt guilty for that. One minute, Seifer'd been her leader. Laughing, still laughing, despite everything they'd done, everything he'd done, everything she had barely been able to stand by him for and everything he'd done once she was gone. Despite having been close to death too many times. The next --

The next he was sat in front of her, biting his lip hard while she tried to heal him. Tried to restore his eyesight.

Of course, it didn't work.

She'd wrapped bandages around his head, then. Thick bandages, which soaked up the blood the minute they touched. So much blood, and no tears, because he had no eyes left to cry with. She'd helped him up -- her slim arm around his waist, his sudden deadweight against her. Raijin had been frantic, anxious, at all the blood, and she'd had no words.

And now Seifer was gone. He'd just left, in the night. As if he felt too much of a drag on her. As if --

As if she hadn't been good enough. As if he hadn't been sure that she'd always be by his side.

They'd stolen his sight from him. She was almost sure it was her fault, by now. Maybe that's why he'd gone. If only she'd cried a warning faster, if only she'd fought harder, faster, killed them all --

But he was gone, now, gone like his sight.
