FFVIII: [profile] 1sentence claim

Fandom: Final Fantasy VIII
Pairing: Seifer/Zell
Warnings: Angst, sap
Rating: PG13
Summary: A collection of sentences about Seifer and Zell. For [livejournal.com profile] 1sentence.

#01 - Comfort

Sometimes, when he was really pissed off and he missed the Orphanage (just a little, oh, just a little; Matron and picking on Zell and maybe even fingerpainting with Selphie) it was nice to go to the cafeteria and just sit, and watch Zell make an idiot out of himself with his hotdogs, it wasn't exactly a comfort but it was a little bit of home that had followed him to Garden.

#02 - Kiss

It was an accidental kiss (because he didn't want to kiss chickenwuss really, who did? who would?) and it was perfect for them, in the middle of the cafeteria and no one was watching 'cause they'd all gotten out of the way of the fight, and Zell wasn't gentle or any of that shit, he had his hands fisted in Seifer's trenchcoat, dragging him close, and there was just a hint of teeth against his lip and yeah, that was perfect.

#03 - Soft

Zell's hair was surprisingly soft, despite all the shit that he should have had to put into it to spike it up like that, and when Seifer ran his hand over it, it tickled his hand, and he bent down to whisper -- chocobo haircut still, chickie? -- but there wasn't any scorn or cruelty in it anymore, and his voice was soft, too.

#04 - Pain

They were all back together again, yeah, but there were things behind all that that would never go away; a pain that clung to the edges and wouldn't go away, Zell's quietness around Seifer, Seifer's dark, brooding expression that would have looked so much more at home on Squall's face, a pain that stopped Seifer and Zell from being what they could be.

#05 - Potatoes

It was perhaps because Zell ate so many hotdogs and the various forms of potato that the cafeteria ruined, Seifer surmised, that he had the energy to be so damn bouncy (and so energetic in bed); potatoes had carbohydrate in them (or something; Seifer skipped the obligatory classes about stuff like that) and that was good for energy, right?

#06 - Rain

Once upon a time, he'd've stumbled in from that fight in the rain (probably with blood streaming) and gone to his dorm to lick his wounds alone, but Zell didn't allow him (or Squall) that luxury; he would wait for them just inside and demand they cleaned themselves up, would push Squall into Rinoa's fussing care and would drag Seifer all the way to his dorm (and a hot shower, and sex).

#07 - Chocolate

Seifer liked dark chocolate, and tasted of it, heavy and lingering, bitter, adult and complicated and oh so appropriate; Zell hated the taste but he kissed Seifer anyway, soft, teasing kisses to steal the taste away, and it was okay then.

#08 - Happiness

Their relationship wasn't perfect, but hey, it was happy -- Zell's energy came in handy, and Seifer had someone to pick on who couldn't quite kick his ass but gave him a decent run for his money, and sometimes (just sometimes) it meant they had someone to just be with.

#09 - Telephone

Zell sounded years younger than he was when he was on the telephone, but Seifer liked it, smiled at the childish voice, smiled more than he did at any other time, mainly because Zell couldn't see him, no one could.

#10 - Ears

Seifer liked having his secrets -- he couldn't pull off the tall, dark and silent shit, but oh, he could be so mysterious -- and sometimes he would lean over and whisper those secrets in the cafeteria, warm breath on Zell's neck, whispering, whispering sinful little things meant just for Zell's ears.

#11 - Name

Seifer never used Zell's name, it was hey you! hey chickenwuss! and so many more, some worse, some almost affectionate, and in return it was prick, dickhead, asshole, and you'd have never known it was love.

#12 - Sensual

Sometimes it was just the fuck, sometimes Seifer felt like that old darkness inside him swelled back up until he almost had to hurt Zell, to use him, but sometimes he was okay, he was free, and then it was slow and sensual and oh, the moans he could get out of Zell then.

#13 - Death

It was a living death, with his brain scraped out and elsewhere, Ultimecia in control and him just watching, and he never felt alive again from that moment till the moment he arrived back at Garden and all of a sudden Zell flung himself at him, squeezing and grinning, and forget about hiding their relationship, Zell didn't have any fucking control but never mind, he was alive.

#14 - Sex

The sex could've been really good for both of them, but there was that little bit of Seifer that was far too stubborn to admit that hey, Zell wasn't so bad, and hey, maybe it was okay to be fucking him, so sometimes Seifer was just a little too rough and sometimes he just couldn't be bothered, and it was never just right but it was good enough for Zell (he didn't seem to care that he deserved so much more).

#15 - Touch

Zell could be so gentle and so wonderful, and Seifer could hardly believe that he was also capable of kicking ass in the training center, kicking ass big style, even; those soft kind hands didn't seem like they could break bones, but they did, and they made Seifer melt, too.

#16 - Weakness

Seifer would like to pretend that he didn't have a single weakness, but there was one or two, there really was a chink in his armour and its name was Zell Dincht, and Seifer hated it and he hid it really well under ridiculing and teasing Zell, but everyone knew it was there (it would've been almost unfair to exploit it).

#17 - Tears

Seifer's eyes weren't made for tears -- they were made for glares, and lust filled stares, and for watching Zell writhe -- and Zell would've known it, so when he went to Zell's funeral he blinked away the tears that just didn't belong, and the others might think he was cold and cruel, but he was just doing what Zell would want.

#18 - Speed

They both shared it, a longing, a craving, a need to go as fast, as high, as they could go -- Zell never realised it and Seifer never voiced it, but that didn't stop them enjoying the odd nights (few and far between) when they stole a Garden transport and drove as fast as they possibly could, or the one time they got their hands on the Ragnarok and they flew it so far and so high.

#19 - Wind

The wind from the sea nearby was nice, but they didn't notice it, Zell too angry, Seifer too absorbed in the beautiful picture a pissed off Zell made.

#20 - Freedom

And yeah, they were free men, but the truth was, they weren't really free at all, because neither was free to say to the other 'I love you', without some old memory coming back to haunt them, teasing, bullying, fighting, chickenwuss asshole little shit arrogant prick...

#21 - Life

There were the tough parts, and the great parts, and the parts they regretted, but it was life and Seifer and Zell would like to think they were getting through it just about okay (with a few little mishaps -- just small ones -- along the way).

#22 - Jealousy

Always the same question from the ever (too) discerning Quistis, was he jealous of Seifer and Squall? -- he couldn't say; all he knew was that the sight of Seifer kissing Squall made something burn right there in his stomach, where nothing had ever burned so before.

#23 - Hands

Seifer's hands were smooth, protected by leather from the punishment of a gunblade's hilt, Zell's were hardened, rough and calloused, but either way, they felt good on the other's skin, and it seemed just like them anyway.

#24 - Taste

Zell's mouth was the taste of failure because if he and Ultimecia had won, Zell would be dead, but oh well, why not, he'd failed and he had to make some new dreams now.

#25 - Devotion

He'd been her knight, her slave, her most ardent worshipper and he'd been her tool, but there was one moment in the whole damn war, not at the beginning, not at the end, but somewhere in the middle, when he was fighting Zell and all of a sudden he couldn't think why, because Zell was angry and perfect and Seifer suddenly couldn't think why Ultimecia's otherworldly presence was so intoxicating compared to that.

#26 - Forever

He'd never say forever, no, because forever is so easy to break, but sometimes, sometimes when he holds Zell close and thinks that somehow, he got lucky, because Zell loves him despite all of it, sometimes in those moments he thinks that hey, whoa, maybe he will be able to love Zell forever, maybe they'll last forever.

#27 - Blood

Zell bit down on his lip a little, sharpened teeth drawing blood, blood that he could taste, blood that tainted the kiss as blood tainted his dreams but he didn't pull back because everything inside him wanted it, the glory and the taste of blood splattered up into his mouth.

#28 - Sickness

Some people ended up married, to have and to hold in sickness and in health, but Seifer and Zell would never do that, because if Zell got sick, Seifer would fuck off, and the feeling was pretty much mutual.

#29 - Melody

The sound of the festival from far off was a nice sound, a melody of music and laughter and shouts and all of that, but who cared about a melody when there was a fucking symphony right there, Zell's moans and Seifer's soft grunts and the pleasant sound of a belt jingling as it hit the floor, of fabric sliding down to hit the floor too.

#30 - Star

Zell wished upon shooting stars, and Seifer laughed at him, but once, secretly, he made a wish too and then he got down on one knee and oh, Zell believed in shooting stars for him so would Zell say yes?

#31 - Home

There was no home anymore, nowhere that Seifer could put down his roots, but he still felt sorry for what he'd done to Zell's second home, even if he'd never succeeded in conquering it, and he was glad that his destruction hadn't really touched Zell's ma and all of that, 'cause Zell deserved a peaceful life now.

#32 - Confusion

Zell's eyes were blue, blue as the sky, blue as the sea, blue as, fuck, Seifer didn't know, all he knew was that they were all shades of pretty/gorgeous/beautiful/stunning (take your pick, he'd say) and that even confused and full of anger, oh, those eyes were (insert your chosen adjective here, he'd smirk).

#33 - Fear

The thing Seifer really liked about Zell (and Squall too, but not so much, because he was so damn detached anyway) was the way that Zell didn't fear him -- oh, he feared what he could do, but he didn't fear it when Seifer tried to reach out, to touch, and he didn't flinch away if Seifer wasn't trying to hurt him.

#34 - Lightning/Thunder

Quezecotl suited Zell perfectly, Seifer thought, because there was something about watching Zell train in a storm (so it wasn't just him and Squall that were crazy enough), with the lightening as a backdrop and thunder as his soundtrack, half dancing in his fight with his shadow (and the rain), and he seemed part of the storm.

#35 - Bonds

Seifer was handcuffed to chickenwuss and that was bad enough, and what was worse -- say this ever so quietly, no, don't even let it out of your own head -- he liked the idea.

#36 - Market

Hey Seifer, you know, I kinda -- if you're gonna confess your love to me, chickenwuss, save it, I'm sure there're chickens on the market who'd want you, go now, doesn't pack up till sixteen hundred -- I kinda hate you, bastard!

#37 - Technology

Modern technology sucked, especially when it was trying to get him out of bed, and Zell was sure that Seifer wouldn't mind (too) much that his alarm clock had been, well, forcefully turned off, so forcefully, it was kind of in pieces on the floor.

#38 - Gift

The things Seifer had done for Zell, they weren't all noticable, tangible things -- but there was one thing, the tattoo, bright black and Zell's most obvious feature; that had been paid for by Seifer, once upon a time, and Seifer had been there to watch it, every black line, every wince, every twitch, every single drop of that blacker than black ink.

#39 - Smile

The smiles hurt, sharp edged and half-fake, because once they had really smiled at each other, back in a time after and before bullying, before the war, in a quiet in between time, they were quiet now, but the smiles could never be the same as they once had.

#40 - Innocence

There'd been an innocence in the teasing when they were kids, but now that was all gone, and something in Seifer had twisted and blackened, but Zell still put up with it, because attention from Seifer was precious and hard to come by.

#41 - Completion

There wasn't any way for either of them to feel complete, because both of them wanted him, they were two halves that almost, but didn't quite, fit; Zell wanted Squall because he was everything he wasn't, Seifer wanted Squall because Squall was his other half (or so he thought) -- truth was, if they tried, they could fit, but they sort of liked the beautiful tragedy they made.

#42 - Clouds

Zell was beautiful when he was sad and awe inspiring when he was angry, with such cloudy pretty blue eyes, and Seifer loved to provoke both reactions, just to see the clouds come over.

#43 - Sky

Sometimes, locked together and moving in a rhythm all their own (now hesitant, now fast, breath hitching, faster ohgod faster), Zell felt as if together they could just reach up and touch the sky.

#44 - Heaven

Seifer didn't believe in heaven until he fell in love with Zell, and then he almost had to 'cause fuck, the world was perfect so all these idealised perfect views had to be true (and sometimes he hated himself for it, but he couldn't help it, just another lovesick fool).

#45 - Hell

Seifer knew what hell was like, knew that Zell thought he did, too, and knew that hell would destroy someone like Zell and he got his romantic dream, though he'd never say it (he'd never let hell touch his Zell).

#46 - Sun

Zell loved the sun, would spread himself out spread eagle to catch as much of it as possible, and he was fucking tempting like that, and sometimes Seifer would give in to the temptation.

#47 - Moon

Seifer didn't like the moon, but it did catch his eye, and sometimes it seemed red, red with blood, suddenly welling up from the depths of guilt, but Zell would banish it, with a strong grip and that insistent squeeze of his -- chest against Seifer's back, chin pointy and digging into some point on his spine, a press that was as good as it was uncomfortable.

#48 - Waves

Seifer's affection came in waves; the first was teasing, the second outright bullying, the third grudging respect and then -- and then ask Zell; he's the only one that got any more affection from Seifer than that.

#49 - Hair

Seifer was of the opinion that he looked perfect, mussed hair or not, even with that one strand that wouldn't behave (it gave him character) -- Zell agreed, but he'd never say so (no need to stroke Seifer's ego).

#50 - Supernova

Every time Seifer saw someone touching Zell, there was a little supernova inside of guilt (for how he'd hurt Zell) and jealousy (because Zell was still his), so strong that he couldn't bear it, but he wasn't an evil stalker ex-boyfriend and when he saw Zell and Squall kissing, he finally did let go (even though the jealousy hurt so).

I would point out the ones I love, but I'd be listing all 50. I just wish I could write them half as well as this. *jealous*

#46, though, just! I can just read that over and over and over.
