Squall rolled his eyes, slipping into the seat Irvine pushed out for him easily, shrugging his jacket off, draping it over the chair and and then taking a sip of the drink Irvine had bought ready for him with a slight grimace. "You know perfectly well I need this once in a while."
"Damn right you do. One day I swear you're going to just snap, darlin'."
Squall rolled his eyes again at the familiar refrain and especially at the petname, taking another sip of his drink. Simple pattern. Meet at night in Deling City. Irvine always had drinks already bought. Drink for an hour, maybe two. Go back to the hotel Squall'd reserved. And then...
Irvine smiled slightly, reaching up to brush Squall's hair out of his eyes. "You look even more tired than usual. Hard day?"
"Just had a lot of work to do."
"Maybe we should hurry up about the going to bed part."
Squall smiled slightly and finished his drink, eyeing Irvine from under his lashes, over the rim of the glass, who found himself shifting a little uncomfortably at that gaze. "Maybe we should."
