Cecil is disturbingly eager to have him back in Baron and he's almost ready to curse his friend and everything he is and he starts to argue, but Cecil just looks at him.
"Cecil?"
He keeps looking. He keeps looking until Kain feels more than a little uncomfortable and starts to turn away, biting his lip. Cecil catches his arm, spins him round, hand behind his neck, pulling him down, all motion and confusion.
Holy --
He's never been kissed quite like that before, fierce and terribly sweet and a little intoxicating. He discovers that it's very hard to say no when that happens.

Rosa is sewing. She's good at it -- her movements quick and sure, her eyes on her work and on him all at once, and Kain has to squirm a little in discomfort at the remembrance of Cecil's kiss. He wonders if Cecil kisses her like that and decides he shouldn't think of it.
"Rosa, I..."
"You don't think you should go," she says, softly. "You just feel a bit uncomfortable so you want to run away."
It's another of those situations where he's about to leave and she gets up and he can't move. Her kiss is softer than Cecil's.
No less intoxicating.

Cecil always kisses like he did that first time, Kain has found. Always desperate, like he tries to take in a little of the person he's kissing. Needy in a way unexpected from the paladin. Rosa is soft, always, soft and lingering and gentle, the perfect foil to Cecil. Touches are the same, Cecil needy and quick and Rosa soft and gentle. Both are maddening and glorious and truly amazing.
And Kain, they've found, is a bridge, right across that gap, gentle and sweet and desperate and needy all at once. And that suits them just fine.
Feels best with three, anyway.
