It takes a few mornings and a couple of lunches for Squall to finally start actually talking to Simon. It's easy, though, when the need to talk finally comes and he has words.
"Where are you from?"
"A long way away."
He looks sort of sad, so Squall doesn't push, just sips at his coffee. Silence unlocks secrets better than pushing questions, he's found, so he waits.
"Don't even know how I got here. I was on a spaceship, and then..."
It sounds dumb, but Squall has heard of it before, people who aren't mad, but believe they're from a different world.
So he just nods.
