Squall is pleased to see Simon up already, even if he is staring down into his cup of coffee like waking up was the worst idea that he ever had. Garden's doctor needs to be almost as resilient as a SeeD and early mornings are one of those things Squall approves of in SeeD and doctor.
He's a little surprised at himself when he goes to sit next to Simon, coffee in hand, but there it is: Simon seems like a nice guy and someone has to make him feel welcome, even if the task would be better done by Selphie.
