It finally gets down to being utterly and completely blunt and honest, which is Blank's best picture of a perfect romance anyway. Flowers are girly and chocolates are overdone and letters are cowardly, and he can't think of anything else.
So he kisses Zidane, pure and simple, just kisses him and tries not to think about any possible repercussions or responses that aren't the ones he wants. What he wants is simple and he gets it, Zidane kisses back, so nicely and sweetly.
But Zidane still doesn't seem to see it, still smiling and laughing and flirting with everyone just the same.
