Summary: Aeris sees past the words of stories.
The words are always too crisp edged to be perfect fiction and Aeris feels as if she can see the author's feelings behind the words, printed on the paper like photocopies of pressed flowers, invisible but tangible if only she had another sense. She wishes she did because sometimes those trapped feelings are more interesting than the stories.
"She was sad," she says, suddenly, when Elmrya reads her a story aloud, and she can hear all the beauty in the words and all the sadness. She wonders at it all and how Elmrya only smiles and doesn't see past the page.
