Nothing is what she expects it to be.

Kain isn't quite on the right side, with that streak of darkness in him and that edge of him that was out of control.

And then there's Cecil, who was dark and now light and perfect either way. She isn't sure she understands all of that.

And then, of course, there's Golbez, who is evil only not really, and is Cecil's brother except they didn't know.

Then there's Edge, who loves her.

Nothing is black and white any more. Nothing is simple. Not even the warmth of Edge's arms when he holds her to keep her safe.

Given the heavy emphasis on light vs. dark in the game, I think this works very well. Nicely done.

That bit about Kain seriously makes me want to write KainxValvalicia with hints of wrong and awful x_x;
