Beatrix was someone Garnet mostly took for granted. She was there. She was always there, there for Brahne, there for her, and not in the way Steiner was, all duty and fealty and things sworn away. She was simply there, as if that was all she'd ever dreamed of being.
Garnet liked that in her. When she had doubts in herself, she thought of Beatrix. Beatrix the strong and Beatrix the brave.
She wanted Beatrix's approval, to some extent. She wanted to show Beatrix she was more than just a spoilt, sheltered princess. That she was worthy of, well... Beatrix's love, maybe.
