FFVIII: Monday Morning
Fandom: Final Fantasy VIII
Pairing: Seifer/Squall
Warnings: Sap
Rating: PG
Summary: Monday morning was always a horribly strong coffee type of morning. Timeline here.
Squall slipped out of bed quietly, wriggling out of Seifer's arms with a practised ease. He smiled a little at Seifer's grumpy murmur, and got dressed quickly and quietly, running his fingers through his hair and frowning at himself in the mirror. Monday mornings were simple, if sometimes hard. Get up, get dressed, try not to wake Seifer in the process. Eat if he could stand the thought, drink horribly strong coffee if not.
Today was a horribly strong coffee type of morning.
Squall almost jumped when Seifer's arms wrapped round him. Almost. Instead he leaned back into the hold and sighed softly. "Good morning. I tried not to wake you up."
"You didn't, babe." Seifer smiled a little and kissed the back of Squall's neck softly. "The problem is, I tend to miss my teddy bear when it walks out of bed on me. And then I wake up."
"Idiot," he sighed, mock-exasperated, and Seifer grinned.
"You know you love me. Got anything heart-breakingly important to do today?"
Squall leaned back against Seifer with a soft sigh, sipping at his coffee. "Nothing really urgent. I have paperwork and preparation for a meeting on Thursday. I'll be back by five, or maybe six, depends on how much paperwork Xu gives me later."
"Mmhmm. I'll make dinner, if you want."
"Such a good housewife."
Seifer laughed and took the coffee out of Squall's hand, putting it down carefully where they wouldn't knock it over before turning Squall in his arms and kissing him deeply. "Asshole. You wouldn't happen to have time to come back to bed for a while, would you?"
"No," Squall sighed, and Seifer just huffed his frustration.
"Okay. See you later, then, babe."
Squall kissed him, quickly, roughly, reaching up to tousle his hair teasingly before snatching his coffee and leaving for his office. Seifer leaned against the kitchen counter and watched him go, smirking.
