Home to Eblan, and Rydia is inwardly awed and amazed that Eblan is home now, that Edge's arm around her waist is easy and wonderful and still makes her so happy. Home used to be Mist, and then the Land of Summoned Monsters, but now home is Edge and his kiss hello and the way his arms loop around her and bring her in tight. Home is their kid, with his wild green hair and his cheeky smile and his black magic, everywhere, underfoot and where he shouldn't be.
Home is the way some things never grow old. Not the hangings on the walls with their bright colours and soft threads, not the soft carpet under her bare feet as she tries (and fails) to get their son to settle down and go to sleep. All of it is as lovely as it was when she was first married, all built and rebuilt over the old ruins with all of Edge's love, ready for her to arrive.
She never thought he could so effortlessly make her love him, never thought he could be so carelessly and amazingly in love and enraptured with someone that he would chase her as he did. But he did, and he grew up a bit, and now she can't imagine home being anywhere but at his side.
She really knows she is home when he takes her to bed that night, smiling at her and taking her hand and leading her to their room and shutting the door on the world for a night alone together.
