"Got your chocolate!"
Yuffie is laughing. None of them have dared to laugh in a few days, but they have a relaxed moment and though they haven't forgotten Aeris, the numb shock has worn off. Tifa is laughing too, snatching at Yuffie and trying to catch her.
"Give it back!"
"Nuh-uh! I want it!"
It's childish, but it's a release, and Tifa pounces on Yuffie, knocking her down and holding her on the ground. "Say you'll give it back and I'll let you up."
Yuffie considers it, head tilted, mischievous smile on her face. She keeps the chocolate just out of Tifa's reach while she pretends to think, watching her carefully from under her eyelashes. "Only if you share."
"There's not that much of it there!" Tifa protests, and she uses her knees to pin Yuffie down while she snatches for the chocolate. Cloud is watching, his eyes half amused and half confused, waiting for them to finish playing. He thinks that the whole scene would feel nicer if he could hear Aeris' gentle laughter as well as Yuffie's giggles and Tifa's smothered laugh.
"Won't give you it then."
"Then I won't let you go."
"You will."
Cloud sees it coming. He's not sure whether to stay or to go, but then Barret calls his name and he goes anyway. Yuffie stretches out underneath Tifa, relaxing every taut muscle, a playful smile on her face.
"Why would I?"
"I'll make you," Yuffie promises.
Tifa laughs for a moment, but is silenced with an 'mmmfff' when Yuffie's lips meet hers. For a moment they kiss, half messily, half desperate, and Yuffie tangles her fingers in Tifa's hair, waiting for her to let her guard down.
And then she jerks her body up, quickly rolling so that she's on top of Tifa. She kisses her a moment longer to keep her a little dazed, then bounces up, the half melted chocolate in hand.
"See?" she crows, and then she flees, leaving Tifa to get up and brush off and chase her.
