He's glad that Cid backed off. And even though it was sort of easy, sort of too easy to say he loves Rikku, and even if it was kind of very very true and very very important, he doesn't want to rush into saying it to her. When he's done that before girls have kinda got scared off. Saying he only wants sex.
Not that he doesn't have a lot of sex with Rikku.
But it's somehow easier to just be quiet about it and snicker at her getting all domestic and tease her about being his little wifey. And then he dodges whatever kitchen implement she throws and then has a pretend-argument with her that ends up in pretend-make-up sex. The sex is real, but the making up isn't, that is.
He's happy now. And he's in no rush to say how he feels.
