FFX-2: It

Fandom: Final Fantasy X-2
Pairing: Gippal/Rikku
Warnings: Sap
Rating: G
Summary: In a way it's comfortable and in a way he has no idea what to say or how to deal. Response to [livejournal.com profile] cupcakemonster's Murderous Thoughts.

With Cid, it's usually the fact that his ranting on is so annoying that makes you cave. Gippal's had that treatment before and he hates it. But Cid lectures him about not hurting Rikku and being good to his daughter and no grandkids and then lots of grandkids and damn, can't the guy make his mind up?

He tunes most of it out, until Cid starts leaving some space between his questions and then without looking up, his hands still busy with the machina he took up to fix almost when Cid's lecture started, he says it. It.

You know. It.

"I love her, okay?"

And then he blushes, because he does but maybe he shouldn't've said it. He doesn't look up and Cid goes away and later Rikku comes, edging in close, and they work on the machina together quietly. He'd like it to be because they're comfortable together, and in a way they are, but in another way he has no idea what the hell to say.

*dies of cute*

Ohhh! That's so adorable. "And being good to his daughter and no grandkidsand then lots of grandkids and damn, can't the guy make his mind up?" That's so very Cid. I think one of the things I enjoy most about your writing is that even when you put characters into non-canon situations, they still feel like the same characters. A lot of fic authors (yes ok mostly the bad ones but still) just can't do that, so it's really really refreshing when someone does. *offers chocolate chip cookies* Yay!
